After the visit

Know who answers when the next question arrives

Before leaving the visit, ask for the follow-up plan and a clear way to reach the person responsible for it.

The source notes used here were recorded on or before September 26, 2026. Later changes may be missing.

Agree on how to get an answer

FDA lists lack of a licensed doctor for questions after delivery among its telehealth warning signs.

Ask which messages reach a clinician, what the service says about reply times and what to do when the next question cannot wait for a routine reply.

Write down who handles refills, test results and changes to the plan. Ask how to share that plan with your usual clinician.

Check the parcel against the plan

FDA recommends against using an injectable weight medicine that arrives warm or without enough refrigeration.

Take delivery concerns to the pharmacy. Have the parcel details at hand and check the label against the product named in the plan.

Storage instructions vary by medicine; the exact product’s label supplies its own requirements.

Discuss the longer plan too

Researchers followed some adults from a weight-loss study called STEP 1 for a year after they stopped semaglutide. On average, about two-thirds of their lost weight came back during that year.

It is a result from that group, leaving treatment length for the individual care discussion.

Ask how benefits, unwanted effects, affordability and your goals will be reviewed. Ask what a planned pause or a change in treatment would involve.
